Patriotic fervour, gaiety and rains mark Independence Day celebrationsIIM Nagpur
IIM Nagpur family joined the nation in celebrating the 72ndIndependence Day with a series of events here on Wednesday. Though the city sky remained cloudy with light showers, the rain failed to dampen the spirits. Students, faculty, other employees and their family members reached in droves to celebrate the auspicious day.
The event started with the unfurling of the National Flag by Prof LS Murty, Director, IIM Nagpur, followed by the national anthem.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Murty spoke about the significance of ‘Independence’. He took pride while mentioning that it is the 72nd Independence Day celebration.
To make the Independence day celebrations memorable, the PGP students of both the years came up with 'Freedom stage #72', a medley of stellar performances. They presented songs, dance-dramas and skits on patriotism and issues of prevalent societal norms. The event gave students a chance to display their talents through instrumentals and vocal performances.
Every performance was received with a huge round of applause by one and all and was quite thought-provoking. Cheers to ‘Abhyudaya’ and the Cultural Committee of IIM Nagpur, faculty and staffers of the institute for making this event a grand success.
