Ministry of Human Resource Development announced Mr.C.P.Gurnani, MD & CEO – TechMahindra as the Chairman of IIM Nagpur Board of Governors. An accomplished business leader with extensive experience in international business development, start-ups, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, he brings to IIM Nagpur a dynamic leadership with dedicated focus on growth of the institute.
The Ministry appointed Prof L S Murty, professor at IIM Bangalore as the First Director of IIM Nagpur. Prof.Murty comes with a long and exemplary academic and industry experience. His areas of interests are Operations management and operations strategy. He joined the institute on March 23, 2017.

Prof. R. Vaidyanathan is Professor of Finance and Control at Indian Institute of Management IIM-Bangalore. His areas of interest are Corporate Finance, Investments, Portfolio Management, Risk Management and Pensions. He is the founder Chairperson for the Centre for Capital Market and Risk Management [CCMR] at IIMB. He is a National Fellow of ICSSR. He was UTI chair Professor in the area of capital Markets at IIMB.
A graduate of the Loyola College, Madras and a Masters from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta he obtained his Fellow in Management (Doctorate) from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta where he also taught for four years.
As a visiting Fulbright Scholar in Corporate Finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaigne USA, he studied the credit rating mechanisms of major agencies like S&P,Moody's etc.He was a Visiting Faculty at the International Center for Banking and Financial Services at Manchester Business School and was a Fellow of Salzburg Seminar at Austria. He was a visiting Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Management at theUniversity of Mauritius.He was a visiting Fulbright Fellow at the Georgia State University at Atlanta and International Insurance Foundation at Washington D. C. during 2003 and studied the Pension Systems in the USA.
He was named one of the best ten professors at all IIMs by business Today magazine. Mr Vaibhav Dange, presently working as Private Secretary to Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways & Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari. With past experience of working on Policy issues was selected as the only Private Secretary from corporate sector against the normal practice of appointing serving IAS officer. As PS to Union Minister had to play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Government's vision and objectives of Infrastructure Development is translated in action on ground.
The Ministry of Road Transport, Highways & Shipping has been recognised as best performing Ministry by various media surveys and report. He graduated from BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli under Karnataka University with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a gold medallist. Thereafter, he obtained a Masters and Doctorate from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Prior to joining College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP,he was a member of faculty at IIT Guwahati for 11 years. He was also a lecturer at NERIST, Itanagar. He served as the Director of CoEP from 2005-2015. Presently, he is the chairman of AICTE.

Ms. Sindushree Khullar, brings over four decades of senior strategic and operational experience across a variety of sectors. In her last post as the first CEO of NITI Aayog from its inception on 1st January 2015, she successfully managed the changeover from the Planning Commission (1950-2014) to the new institution seamlessly, downsized the organisation and refashioned its processes to serve its new purpose and functions.
She also set up a system to monitor outcomes against targets set for priority sectors and reported the quarterly analyses and progress for all key sectors in detailed presentations to the Prime Minister. In her previous roles Ms Khullar has been Secretary in Planning Commission, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. She held several significant positions like Secretary (Planning commission) Spl Secretary (MoF) and was involved in framing of policies for key sectors like Infrastructure, health, education and nutrition. She led several initiatives in Delhi like Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT) scheme, Transition of fleet from Diesel to CNG, etc. Ms Khullar has also represented the country in National and International fora including the G-20 and the Commonwealth Finance Ministerial. She has been on the Boards of the International Fund for Agricultural Development, Telecom Commission, National Highways Authority of India, ONGC, IGL and LIC among others.
Ms Khullar has a Master’s Degree in Development Economics from Boston University and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. These were acquired while she was in service. She is an alum of Lady Shri Ram College and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Mr. Puneet Pushkarna is currently General Partner of Solmark, an organization formed by a group of tech entrepreneurs who have launched and built several companies and bring expertise in all aspects of growing a company in a competitive global marketplace. Prior to this, he was the President of Headstrong, a highly specialized deep-domain business in the Capital Markets that helped its customers through a strong process-centric digital technology services platform, leading to transformation in the front, middle and back office. Headstrong eventually got acquired by Genpact in 2011. He was also the co-founder of TechSpan, that consistently ranked as amongst the fastest growing companies in Silicon Valley. He was also part of the founding team that helped grow HCL America into what is now HCL Technologies.
He sits on a number of Boards/Advisory Boards of several organisations like Servion Global Solutions Ltd, SP Jain School of Management, Holmusk, Mobikon, Evolko. Ms Smita Waingankar, has completed her Bachelor's in Legislative Law (LLB) from Mumbai University and has a Master's degree in Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy from TISS. She is currently engaged with the government-funded project titled 'Impact of Infrastructure and Governance Transformations of JNNURM on Small, Medium and Large Cities' at the Centre for Urban Policy and Governance. In the past, she has worked with Urban India Reforms Facility (UIRF), a programme that focused on areas such as housing in small and medium towns and gendered governance in an urban space. She has done significant work in Community Participation in urban governance.

Until recently, he was Director of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Before joining IIMA, he was Robert Braucher Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School. Before that, he was a Harvard Business School faculty member for 13 years.Nanda was Fellow, Harvard Business School Executive Education from 2013 to 2017 and Officiating Director, IIM Nagpur from its inception in 2015 to 2017.
Professor Nanda stepped aside as Director, IIMA in September 2017 and in October 2017 joined the Strategy Unit of Harvard Business School.
Nanda's research, teaching, and advisory work focus on leadership, particularly in the context of professional services and institutions of higher education. He has published case studies and articles on professional services in three primary streams – management of professional service organizations, professionals’ labour markets, and professionalism. During his stint as Director, IIMA, Nanda has written on, and participated in conferences and task forces related to, administration of higher education institutions, particularly Indian professional schools.
