Prof. K.V. Ramani obtained his PhD in Operations Research from Cornell University, USA in 1977. He served the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) from 1977 to 2014, and held various senior positions, including the Chairmanship of the Centre for Management of Health Services, which he helped set up in 2004. After retirement, he continues to serve IIMA as an Adjunct Professor. Prof Ramani has served on the Board of several organizations, including the IIMA Board of Governors.
Prof Ramani has also taught at Cornell University, USA; Florida International University, USA; and the National University of Singapore, Singapore. He has been a visiting research scholar at the University of Texas, Austin, USA; University of Leeds, UK; University of Warwick, UK; University of Western Sydney, Australia; and the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, Finland.
His current teaching and research interests are in the areas on, Hospital Management, Public Health Management, Non Communicable diseases, and Child malnutrition. Dr.Ramani has over 40 publications in international refereed journals.His most recent publications include a book on “Hospital Management: Text and Cases” (Pearson Education; 2013) and another book on “Global Public Health Policies” (Business Expert Systems, New York; 2015).
